piney squirrel

Piney, is what they call this squirrel in Indiana. I have no idea if that is what they are called elsewhere.

He's got lunch in his mouth and is posing for the photographer.

August 13, 2013 note... this picture is the most popular on this site. It gets a lot of visits based upon google and other search engine searches. Many folks in the Ukraine and this general area, for some reason, love this picture. If anyone knows why, please let me know.

I love you Matthew... wherever you are....

This is my oldest son Matthew during one of our days out taking pictures. He looks like he's having fun. We were in a museum train yard.

I lost Matthew a year ago.

He didn't die, but I lost him all the same.

On Feb 6, 2009, he sent me a text message and that was the last time I heard or saw from him.

They all now live hundreds of miles away... I miss him so much and my heart aches.

Matthew I love you.

eating lunch

It was a very frosty day when this picture was taken. You can see the frost on the berries and on the twigs and branches of the tree.

Animals usually eat the tastiest food first. This tree still has berries on it which tells you these berries will sustain life... but don't taste very good.

Amish Laundry

The Amish do luandry Monday and Friday... Saturday is usually bedding. They hang their laundry out to dry, becuase they can not use dryers. The point of these pictures is that the laundry goes outside even in the winter.

The top picture was taken on a day when we didn't make it out of the teens.

Some of us remember hanging clothes out. In the summer the sheets smell great. In the winter clothes can be stiff as a board.
