Amish Buggy, LaGrange, IN

Maple Syrup Time

In this part of the world you see Maple Syrup being gathered as the weather turns warmer. Warmer days and cool nights are best to make the sap run. This is the most photographic way you see the trees being tapped. The other ways involved plastic buckets or plastic bags and sometimes plastic hose.

Then it is boiled down in a long process.

There is (I think) a picture of syrup being boiled elsewhere on this site.
